Practical Information

If you wish to use our woodland sanctuary or explore our grounds, please bring with you suitable shoes and clothing. Please also make sure to let us know of any food requirements at least two weeks prior to your arrival.

Early Bird pricing is available until 4pm on the 30th September. Non-residential option excludes overnight stay and breakfast.

Penny Gundry - Event Organiser & Business Development Manager

Having started her career working with young women on heroin on the streets of Dublin, Penny then moved to Venezuela for a year before returning to Ireland to work with the Peace Process. She became involved with a number of key conflict resolution programmes in the North and South of Ireland before the Good Friday Agreement was signed in 1998. It was during this time that she was promoted into senior management and started to develop ways of working in very complex and demanding environments. Her last senior management post in Ireland was Principal of the College of Progressive Education with over 3000 students nationwide. She joined the team in Hawkwood as Business Development Manager in May 2022. Penny has developed a unique creative problem-solving technique called BeadTrail® which she has used with business leaders around the world.

Alicia Carey - CEO

Alicia is the Chief Executive of Hawkwood, she has led the transformational change of Hawkwood, creating a distinct and contemporary education and cultural programme which showcases leading speakers in the areas of future thinking, systems change, arts, sustainability and wellbeing.  She is also a Director of Create Gloucestershire and sits on the voluntary advisory Board of the Stroud District Council 2030 Community Engagement Board. Her prior senior management roles with the Dartington Hall Trust and a successful career in arts management, have given her a wealth of knowledge and adaptability. She is a passionate, values led individual who cares deeply about enabling people to make a considered difference to society and about protecting our planet for generations to come.
