The Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy is a charitable organisation and a centre for shared learning, knowledge and practice in the field of cranial osteopathy, offering post-graduate courses across the UK and in Europe.

Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy was founded in 1993 by a group of committed British osteopathic lecturers, concerned that teaching should be of the best possible quality.

The SCCO remains true to its core values of providing exceptional teaching, research in the cranial field and education in cranial osteopathy. The SCCO will continue to deliver interactive and practical courses enabling students to carry new knowledge and skills into their own practices.

Course Offerings & Opportunities

Hawkwood is proud to be the home site for the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy (SCCO) and one of three locations for SCCO courses in the UK. SCCO courses are highly praised by past students and offer comprehensive training in osteopathy in the cranial field, catering to all levels from beginners to advanced practitioners. While primarily operating in the UK, SCCO also has a growing presence in Europe, particularly in Germany, where they have been teaching for 15 years.

Eligible to any student with a degree in Osteopathy, SCCO's courses provide a modular pathway that links to membership categories and leads to Fellowship. Fellows may apply for the SCCO teacher training scheme and become full voting members of the College. In response to the evolving role of osteopathy in healthcare, SCCO is expanding its activities, emphasising research, communication, and public engagement.

Registered Students

Booking Your Stay at Hawkwood

As part of our partnership with the SCCO, we are pleased to offer registered students the option of staying with us the evening before their course begins.

You will receive a private link to book your accommodation and meal preferences for your stay at Hawkwood, including the option to arrive early and spend an additional night with us.

We provide two accommodation choices: Bed & Breakfast (no evening meal) or Bed & Breakfast with an evening meal.

Your room assignment, determined by your course booking with the SCCO, will remain the same for the duration of your stay.
