How do I make a venue booking?
To book our venue or learn more, call us at 01453 759034 or email venue@hawkwoodcollege.co.uk.
Once you're ready to book, we'll check the availability for your preferred dates. We’ll then ask for details such as the number of attendees, arrival and departure times, and any specific venue requirements. A booking form will be created for you to review. Once approved, sign and return the form, and we’ll issue an invoice for a 20% deposit. Your booking is confirmed once we’ve received the signed form and deposit.
Can I make a provisional booking?
We do not accept provisional bookings, but we will work with you to accommodate your needs based on our availability.
What if I need to change the date or timings?
Please contact us if you need to adjust your booking. Minor changes to timings are usually straightforward, and we will always do our best to accommodate any changes to dates, depending on our existing bookings schedule.
What happens if I need to cancel my venue hire booking?
If you need to cancel your booking, the following charges will apply, based on the minimum number specified in your booking form. Please see our full Terms & Conditions for further details:
- Cancellations made between 12 and 6 months prior to the start date: 20%
- Cancellations made between 6 and 3 months prior to the start date: 35%
- Cancellations made between 3 months and 6 weeks prior to the start date: 50%
- Cancellations made less than 6 weeks prior to the start date: 100%
How do you calculate the price?
Venue hire is charged based on 24-hour periods, with additional time calculated accordingly. For example:
- Monday 4pm to Wednesday 4pm would count as two 24-hour periods.
- Monday 9am to Wednesday 5pm would count as two 24-hour periods plus an additional 9am–5pm time slot.
How many bedrooms do you have?
Hawkwood offers 28 bedrooms. These include 4 triple rooms, 12 twin rooms, and 12 single rooms. Of these, 21 are located in the Main House, while 7 are in the Stables.
Are all your bathrooms ensuite?
Currently, we have two ensuite bedrooms, with plans to add more by early 2025. Most of our rooms share private ‘non-suite’ bathrooms—each featuring a toilet, sink, and shower—located along the corridors on each floor. On average, there is one shower/bathroom for every two bedrooms, ensuring convenience and privacy. Additionally, there are multiple separate WCs throughout the building.
I have specific dietary requirements...
We take pride in our well-earned reputation for creating delicious meals from scratch, using organic vegetables and local meats – all GMO-free. If you or your guests have specific dietary requirements, please inform us in advance. A participant form will be sent to the lead booker approximately one month before your event to gather any necessary details about dietary preferences and allergies.
Is there parking at Hawkwood?
Yes, we have a car park located a short walk from reception, group rooms, and accommodation.
How far is Hawkwood from the centre of Stroud and the train station?
Hawkwood is 1.5 miles from Stroud station, which is in the town centre. The walk to Hawkwood is uphill along a narrow country lane and takes about 30 minutes. Taxis are available, and we can provide a list of local taxi services upon request.
