More about Gong Initiation

Students will have the opportunity to experiment with a beautiful collection of master quality instruments (both modern and collectable antiques): gongs and singing bowls, and also receive instruction on the shruti box, chanting, toning and singing. All material and equipment will be made available to students so there is no need to own or bring anything in order to participate on this course. However students are welcome to bring their own Gong or other instruments, if they would like.

So that we can make the most of our time together, the days will be full and long. The days will begin with pre breakfast yoga/meditation/chanting to set the tone of the work. Instruction will be given throughout the day in the form of lecture, demonstration and experiential learning, and after dinner students will have the opportunity to both receive and participate in group sessions.

The course is a wonderful opportunity to start your Gong journey in a small group setting. There will be plenty of opportunities for feedback and question time with our expert teachers in the beautiful and supportive environment of Hawkwood.

By the end of the course, participants will know how to work with the gong with confidence to share gong healing with friends and family, deliver full 1:1 gong sessions, for personal gong healing, and group healing gong baths.

The aim is for participants to leave the training inspired, refreshed and imbued with a passion to continue in their Journey in sound.

Practical Information

What to Wear
Please wear loose and comfortable clothing, i.e. light stretchy clothing, perhaps yoga pants, and socks to keep your feet warm. The temperature in the room will be warm. Please note that you will never be asked to share personal information with the group if you don’t want to, though there will be processes involving one-to-one sharing.

What to Bring
If you have a gong, please feel free to bring it along (no stand necessary). Please bring a yoga mat, a small cushion for your head, and light blanket/covering (no pillows or heavy blankets please), an A4-sized notebook and a good writing pen and an eye covering.

“It was a beautiful and invaluable experience that will stay with me and allowed me to grow so much as a therapist. Aidan McIntyre and the rest of the team, I so highly recommend it.”
