Hiroko Imada
Born in Tokyo, Imada studied first at Tokyo Zokei Art University and later at the Slade School of Fine Art. She is a painter, printmaker and site-specific installation artist. Her inspiration often comes from nature and her recent site-specific installation exhibition at Watts Gallery in Guilford represents cherry blossoms.
She established the course at the British Museum in 2000 and King's Foundation School of Traditional Arts in 2017 and teaches at both organizations on a regular bases. The British Museum and the Royal Collection Trust commissioned her to create films of making Japanese woodblock print for their exhibitions.
